My Daddy (SGM) spent 42 years 11 months 7 days in the Army.
Instead of my son accepting his 6 year academic scholarship when he graduated from high school, he decided to serve his country and follow in his law law’s footsteps.

My son asked my Daddy’s advise on which branch to join.
My Daddy with his most serious face said “Son, join the Air Force.
My son looked a little puzzled and asked ” PawPaw, why would you say Air Force, your Army?”.
My Daddy replied ” Well, while the Army is out in the cold & heat in a tent, the Air Force will be in 4-Star hotels ordering room service”.

They both laughed quite a bit and my Daddy took him to the Air Force recruiting office the next day.
