Stories of Services
A Long Bloodline of Service
Channon F
Our family’s military legacy runs deep. In a short story version;
It began with my father, who joined the Army at 19 and was deployed to Vietnam. He returned home to Utah with honors, later married my mother, and continued serving in the Army Reserve, including service in Saudi Arabia during the Gulf War.
Years later, I met my husband, who joined the Utah Air National Guard in 1992 and continues to serve today as a Security Forces Commander, currently awaiting deployment to the Middle East. His father also proudly served in the Utah Air National Guard and retired as a Chief.
Now, the next generation has answered the call. Our son has recently enlisted in the Air Force and is currently in his first week of Basic Military Training.
Ours is a family rooted in service, sacrifice, and love of country. We are deeply proud of the generations of dedicated service members and veterans in our family, and we are honored to support our son as he begins his own journey of serving something greater than himself.
