Country Girl Living Abroad

I was a nineteen year old Army wife traveling alone to Germany with my 16 month old daughter in May, 64. . I had hardly traveled outside NC. We were the only American’s living in the small town of Horchheim, Germany. Nine months later our second daughter was born. My husband was in the field a lot and I was very lonely. We did not have much money but traveled to Holland, Austria, Switzerland, France Spain and Italy.
We returned to the States in the fall of 1966. We were at Ft. Lee, VA for a year and returned to Germany for another three year tour. These are experiences that I will always remember.
